Custom Quilting Photos

There are a lot of people in my life who really have no idea of anything within the quilting world. They know they can get a large quilt at Cracker Barrel or Walmart for a few hundred dollars, but they don’t know how the quilt came to be, or what even makes a quilt (technically speaking). They are completely ignorant to the entire fabric, thread and sewing machine world, and all the nooks and crannies that make up my favorite place to be.

Despite this, I have yet to meet anyone who does not see the beauty that custom quilting can lend to a nicely pieced quilt. And those ignorant people in my life? Don’t worry, I’ve since schooled them. 🙂

Quilting is a beautiful form of art, and like painting, each artist performs his/her craft in a little bit different fashion. Many of us can tell who quilted a piece by the style in which it was quilted.

So this post is dedicated to sharing some of my custom quilting work, because I think my work is beautiful, and so do my customers.

You can always tell that someone makes quilts because they have little threads all over them. You can tell someone is a long arm quilter because they always want to show you the backside of the quilts!

I suppose that is enough eye candy for today. I hope you enjoyed these snippets of my work. Thanks for checking it out 🙂

Maria The Quilter

So I’ve been pondering this for a bit, and a few weeks ago decided to stick my toe in the water. Last week I put my foot in and well, I guess tonight I jumped in. This metaphor is apropos considering the massive amount of rain lately here in Texas. 🙂

I decided to give my business a bit of a name change. While I will still operate under the business name (i.e. for tax purposes) of Charming Prints Quilting, I have changed nearly all my other propaganda to Maria The Quilter.

It just makes sense. Because really, that’s who I am! I think it really simplifies things. It’s my twitter, my gmail, now on my business cards and invoices, and on my blog. I just need to update my website header and some tags on photos and I think I will be set.

I think this will work, considering I may want to hire some assistance later in the year, if business continues at this rate. They would work under CPQ, with Maria The Quilter. I kinda like that idea.

Other than that, I will apologize for not posting in forever. I have been extremely busy and I have thought of things I wanted to share, just haven’t taken the time to write. Now that I’m confessing, I will amend and ensure I post again prior to the month’s end.

In the meantime, share your thoughts, or not. Either way, keep on quilting!
